Tradition and Innovation

The company's history began with the founding of Szalay Rt. in 1918/19. It was nationalised after the war in 1950. After various reorganisations, the production plant was moved to Szentes in 1960, and the long period of "Kontakta, Kontavill" began. In 1992, after a successful privatisation, it became part of the Legrand Group.

Legrand is a trusted professional partner, as evidenced by its long list of developments, production and related awards. Most recently, it developed and manufactured the Valena Life and Allure ranges, which won the Hungarian Product Grand Prix in the year of their launch.

In 2017, the Niloé and Célian product ranges were renewed and NEAT products for elderly care were introduced.In 2018, the range of IoT smart solutions was further expanded with the addition of induction chargers.
