MikroTik now provides hardware and software for Internet connectivity in most countries around the world. Their experience with industry-standard PC hardware and complete routing systems enabled them to create the RouterOS software system in 1997, which provides extensive stability, control and flexibility for all types of data interfaces and routing.

In 2002 they decided to make their own hardware and the RouterBOARD brand was born. They have resellers in most parts of the world and customers in probably every country on the planet. Their company is based in Riga, the capital of Latvia, and employs over 280 people.
