1985 - Japan's first sensor using passive infrared light was introduced. The OW-01, the world's first wireless automatic door contact switch was introduced.
1990 - Research and development centre was established.
1993 - Introduced the world's first automatic water permeability measuring system.
1998 - Introduced the Wonder Track digital event recording system to the digital CCTV market. The digital event recording system won first prize at the Expo security and safety equipment exhibition in France.
1999 - Vision security control panel won the award for best performing product at the ISC East security equipment show in the USA.
2001 - OPTEX shares are listed on the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Security Enclosures Ltd. acquires Optex (Europe) Ltd. as a subsidiary. Separates the photoelectric sensor division and establishes Optex FA Co., Ltd.
2003 - OPTEX shares are listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2004 - The AX-100DH(J)/200DH(J), the world's first long-range outdoor protection system using digital communication technology, is introduced.
2010 - Entered the LED lighting field with the introduction of an LED light control system that achieved industry-leading energy savings.
2013 - Received the Director General's Award of the Kinki Economic, Trade and Industry Bureau at the Kinki Region Invention Awards Ceremony, organized by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation.
2014 - Selected for the "Global Niche Top Companies Selection 100" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
2017 - Transition to a new organizational structure with OPTEX GROUP CO., LTD. as the holding company.
2019 - The company celebrates its 40th anniversary.
