The EU cybersecurity rules introduced in 2016 have been updated by the NIS2 Directive, which will enter into force in 2023, modernising the existing legal framework to keep pace with increasing digitalisation and cybersecurity threats. Bosch has extended its data security compliance to 2024!
The Directive on a high common level of cybersecurity across the EU (the NIS2 Directive) will increase the level of cybersecurity in the EU through legal measures. Businesses identified by Member States as providing essential services in these sectors must take appropriate security measures for key digital service providers, such as search engines, cloud computing services and online marketplaces, i.e. comply with the security and notification requirements of the Directive.
Video systems and cybersecurity certificates
To maintain security, it is crucial to keep video systems up to date as more and more devices are connected to internet-based networks. Bosch strives to embody the highest level of security in all its network-connected devices and reduce the cybersecurity risk of IoT.

Underwriters Laboratories, UL 2900 cyber security certification
As a result of ongoing efforts, Bosch cameras have achieved Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 2900-2-3 Level 2 cybersecurity certification. This certification confirms that Bosch conducts vulnerability assessments with the help of independent auditors to reduce the vulnerability of its products and has appropriate methods in place to effectively manage cyber security.
"Certification to the UL 2900 series of standards is the highest level of recognition for cybersecurity due diligence that helps demonstrate that a product has a level of security that meets modern standards." - UL's Cybersecurity Assurance Program (UL CAP).
Safety of industrial automation and control systems
Bosch cameras have achieved IEC 62443-4-1 compliance certification for industrial cybersecurity capability, which focuses on processes and definitions related to the development and manufacture of secure products.
The requirements assessed are: security management, security requirements, security by design, secure implementation, security auditing and validation testing, security issue management, security update management, security policy.
