Unlike conventional security systems, Ksenia focuses on universality. Their systems perform both asset protection tasks and offer solutions to home automation challenges. One of the advantages is that management is done from a single platform or application.
Available in a range of hybrid, wired and wireless (16, 40, 40 wls, 140 wls, 644 wls) and all-in-one wls 96 versions, there is a control panel to suit every user need, whether residential, commercial or industrial.
No software is required to program it: lares 4.0 can be configured remotely via the Ksenia SecureWeb cloud platform, from a smartphone, and from a tablet using the Ksenia Pro app.
Integration with other platforms
Another advanced feature worth mentioning is the possibility of interoperating with other brands. Ksenia can be integrated with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Creston, Control4, Milestone, Avigilon, Dormakaba, among others. In fact, thanks to the "porta IoT" http gateway – Ksenia Security's http gateway – you can build direct communication between virtually any IoT device and the control panel without necessarily having to use an SDK. This is provided by the universal "communication language" of http commands.
Unique solutions
An important aspect in the development of lares 4.0 was to make the work of installers easier. This was achieved through a series of useful features, including:
- Inputs/Outputs: each lares 4.0 control panel can handle the same number of inputs as outputs. This means up to 644 zones and outputs for the largest panel.
- IP Zones: Ksenia Security is the first in line to introduce the concept of IP zones for alarm systems. By coordinating the IP zone with the supporting IP camera, you can simultaneously detect intruder movement – triggering an alarm – and access a live view of the camera from the lares 4.0 user app (iOS, Android)
- KS-BUS interface: The bus line is fully supervised: the serial number of the devices on it, the data connection speed of the line and the real-time status of the power consumption of the modules can all be monitored in the installation interface.
- Unlimited memory and automatic backups: all lares 4.0 control panels have 4 GB of eMMC memory to store programming data, event logs, updated device firmware, IP camera and screenshots. In addition, installers can back up their programs in three ways: in the control panel's internal memory, locally on their computer and via the cloud thanks to the free automatic backup service, which can be activated directly from the SecureWeb installer platform.
- Power monitoring: lares 4.0 monitors both the external power supply and the battery voltage. In case of a prolonged power failure, the battery has a disconnect function to prevent deep discharge.
- Ethernet connection: has a built-in Ethernet port that provides local connection to a web server for programming, maintenance, diagnostics and software updates of the control panel and its peripherals. It can also send emails, synchronise the clock via NTP protocol, send events via SIA DC-009 protocol and much more, without the need for additional hardware or licences.
- Remote firmware update: the control panel regularly checks the current firmware on SecureWeb and, if it finds available updates, automatically downloads them into memory, transparently to the user. Updates can be installed with a single push of a button, without any further intervention.
- Voice messages: any text and event can be automatically converted into generated voice files thanks to the Loquendo license. It is possible, for example, to set up a sound message to be played on the vox-M outdoor siren in case of alarm or attempted sabotage, which can then act as an acoustic deterrent.
- Programmable Logics: programmable logics link system events and AND/OR conditions so that actions are only performed in specific situations. Programmable logic helps to solve even the most complex control tasks.
- Access control: lares 4.0 can handle over a thousand users. The use of a PIN code or RFID card is an option for users. Interaction with the system and door control is provided by up to 64 user interfaces. It is possible to assign to each user one of 7 different access levels: from the administrator, who has the right to fully manage all users via the lares 4.0 app (iOS, Android) to the minimum level, which allows only one scenario to be activated.
