We are used to seeing surveillance systems categorized by manufacturers and distributors according to price, functionality, and other specialized features. These series are not just unnecessary marketing terms for installers; they also serve as a guide. A knowledgeable buyer can already know which functions the selected system will have, what its approximate price will be, and what potential for future upgrades the system might offer. This classification helps consumers make informed decisions about what they are purchasing, ensuring the system suits their needs now and can evolve in the future.
Development
The fact that middle-range features are now trickling down to entry-level models triggers two exciting effects on camera series.
One effect is that the mid-range category will not remain static. Instead, it will expand with new tools, such as metadata management and the new Multi AI feature, allowing it to maintain its superiority. The other effect is that these new features will become accessible to those who previously had to settle for lower-performance camera systems due to price differences.
Additionally, it is likely that customers will grow fond of intelligent systems and eventually seek out more advanced series offering even more refined services.
New Features of the TCI EA5 Camera Series
The TCI EA5 camera series, available in two, four, and eight-megapixel models, now includes object identification and related features like line crossing and area intrusion monitoring.
Entry-level cameras in this series are now equipped with shape recognition, distinguishing between humans, bicycles, and four-wheeled vehicles. As a result, false alarms have been drastically reduced, thus expanding the role of these cameras in surveillance systems.
Beyond just documentation, these cameras now provide significant help with alerts. When detecting selected objects—whether human, vehicle, or both—they can trigger an alarm event. Additionally, they have the ability to send emails, record on SD cards, or upload to FTP, all independently from the video recorder settings.
The New Series – TCI EL2
The newly released TCI EL2 series, with two and four-megapixel cameras, introduces a new feature compared to its predecessor: SMD, or Smart Motion Detection.
Smart Motion Detection acts as a bridge between standard object detection and motion detection. Cameras with this feature do not focus on predefined areas or lines; instead, they expand motion detection to include the recognition of human movement. As a result, alerts are triggered only when human motion is detected.
Additionally, the EL2 cameras are equipped with intelligent night lighting. In the event of an alarm, they use a combination of infrared and white light to provide better-quality, color images of human-triggered movements occurring at night or in low light. This feature not only allows for detailed, vibrant footage of intruders but can also be used practically, such as helping to locate a keyhole in the dark outside your door.
The combination of white and infrared lighting, along with intelligent motion detection (SMD) and object recognition, is now available even in entry-level cameras.
Take advantage of the benefits offered by object recognition in your daily activities!
