Intelligent events
A new feature in event management is the NVR-side support for advanced functions of IP cameras. This allows us to access camera settings and notifications directly from the recorder interface.
Among the intelligent features of Techson NVRs, SMD, or Smart Motion Detection, stands out. This is a simplified version of object filtering designed for entry-level cameras, aimed at replacing traditional motion detection. Instead of merely detecting changes in image content, it signals movement when a person appears, allowing us to associate events with it. One such example is the popular dual illumination feature, where the camera switches from infrared to white light upon detecting human movement.
The loitering detection feature is designed to protect areas where no one is supposed to stay for long periods, but where passage is permitted. An example of this would be the discreet area between a bank teller and the queue of waiting customers.
Illegal parking detection is similar to loitering detection but optimized for vehicles. It alerts users when a car not only passes through a restricted zone but also stops. This functionality can be utilized to protect pedestrian crossings, garage exits, and bus stops.
The new firmware includes a sound monitoring feature for mid-range cameras equipped with microphones. An unexpectedly high volume or a sudden drop in the usual noise level can trigger an event in the recorder. Additionally, the parameters of this feature can be customized as needed.
A new feature related to object filtering is the ability to set the size of monitored objects. This allows you to configure the camera's shape recognition algorithms to ignore objects that are either too large or too small, further reducing false alerts.
Additionally, intelligent cameras, especially those capable of facial recognition can now be configured via the recorder interface to operate in specific modes. This means that switching between general AI event handling (e.g., intrusion, loitering, fire detection) and the facial recognition feature is no longer limited to the camera interface.
Cloud-Based Features
The NVRs' NAT function, which utilizes popular cloud services, allows for camera updates via both web browsers and the Superlive Plus app. In version 1.4.10, two-factor authentication has also been introduced, enhancing the security of browser access to recorders that have been linked through a security code in the app. The recorder will only be accessible through the browser if the code displayed in the connected app is also provided.
The soon-to-be-activated Push 2.0 will simplify the setup of notifications between the NVR and the application, as well as provide immediate image display alongside messages received on mobile devices.
Lights and sounds
The camera's lighting functions can now be fully configured through the recorder. Additionally, settings for intelligent lighting, as well as infrared and white light, are now accessible, along with light and sound alerts from Perimeter Alarm cameras. This allows for the customization of sound patterns, flash duration, frequency, and scheduling. Furthermore, the previous version's "disarm" feature — allowing for one-click deactivation of alerts — has been enhanced to include the option to activate and deactivate light and sound alerts.
Beyond all this
The NVRs equipped with PoE switches can now support bi-spectral thermal cameras on the PoE side. Additionally, the NAT connection for the DB102 intercom has also become compatible, eliminating the need for a separate PoE switch for its operation.
The parking management system integrated into the SmartSpeed NVRs has been enhanced with several new features. The captured license plate recognition camera can now simultaneously manage both entry and exit points, while license plate patterns can also be used for barrier opening. This function groups license plates containing the same letters, ensuring automatic access for emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks.
Finally, the recently introduced activation can also be performed directly from the Techson SmartSpeed NVR interface.
