In 1965, in Italy, Fabbrica Automatismi Apertura Cancelli (Automatic Door Opener Factory), or FAAC for short, was born.The company was started by Giuseppe Manini after he noticed that no one would get out of their cars to lock the doors of their apartment blocks, so they were always left wide open.
